California Psychology Internship Consortium (CPIC)

Internship opportunities to support future professionals in the field.

Anchor

The California Psychology Internship Consortium (CPIC) is an APA-accredited training program dedicated to offering psychology internships that support future professionals to acquire broad-based clinical skills and competencies that are evidenced-informed and evidenced-based, ethically-sound, and culturally-sensitive. Interns receive education and training via a year-long placement at one of our training partners: Alvarado Parkway Institute Behavioral Health System (API); Aurora Behavioral Healthcare/San Diego; Department of State Hospitals-Coalinga (DHS-C), Porterville Developmental Center (PDC); San Quentin Rehabilitation Center (SQSP); State Center Community College District, Fresno (SCCCD); University of California-Merced (UC-Merced); and the W. Gary Cannon Psychological Service Center (PSC). Training is also provided through didactics, consultation, and socialization experiences in which partners join to collectively support intern development.

Each CPIC training partner is committed to the following aims:

Aim 1: To provide broad and general training in health service psychology with an emphasis on evidence-based practices.

Aim 2: To prepare psychology interns to competently address the needs of diverse, underserved populations, including forensic populations, transient populations, juveniles, young adults, and those with severe and persistent mental illness.

Aim 3: To socialize interns to the profession of health service psychology through the application of critical thinking, compassion, ethical decision-making, self-reflection, advocacy, and a commitment to life-long learning.

Accreditation Status

CPIC is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the American Psychological Association. Questions related to the program’s accredited status should be directed to the Commission.
